Machine Alignment Shims (Pre-Cut)
We carry a stock of alignment shims to allow the adjustment of your pump and motor couplings during the alignment process. They are used to fill gaps or spaces beneath the feet of power transmission plant, such as pumps, motors & gearboxes.
Our pre-cut alignment shims are most commonly used when fractionally elevating or lowering one machine (most commonly the part that does the driving of the pair such as a motor) so that its rotating shaft is aligned with the shaft centreline of the driven unit (propeller, pump, mixer, fan etc.
Shims are supplied pre-cut and have the following advantages over other shims.
- They are available in a range of Metric or Imperial sizes.
- They are made of high-quality stainless steel to prevent corrosion from acid or alkali
- They are are available in several machine foot sizes, each with different thickness options to give the right alignment correction facility for almost any machine
- They are easily and quickly identified by permanent marks indicating thickness
- They are completely flat, ensuring stability and consistent machine support over the full surface of the shim
- They have smooth edges and have specially rounded corners to avoid injury to operatives during alignment and positioning.
- They have an extraction and insertion tab to facilitate positioning and removal, each clearly marked with thickness
- They are available in many pre-packed options to suit your requirement
Alignment Shim & Packs/Cases
Shims can be supplied in packs of 10-off per size, or in cases containing a variety of thicknesses and profiles as required.Shims can be supplied to fit the following Bolt Sizes: M12, M18, M27, M36, M52.

The advent of new Laser Shaft Alignment systems for the alignment of power transmission plant/machinery, (such as the Fixturlaser NXA Pro and Fixturlaser EVO systems), has meant that maintenance and installation engineers can quickly and easily achieve a high level of precision whilst installing or maintaining their plant and machinery.
Pre-cut alignment shims are a great aid in this alignment process, cutting down on guesswork and allowing quick switching of shims to fill different size gaps.
